About Darcy

Hello.

I hate writing these things. But since you’re here, I guess you deserve to know a little bit about who I am and why I started this page.

It all started in June 2015 when I started fostering kittens for a local animal shelter. My first litter was a mother cat who tested positive for FeLV and her 3 kittens. Thankfully, the first test was a false positive. My 2nd foster litter was a pair of kittens, one of who had a swollen leg and “wasn’t expected to survive the night.” He did but it started me on a road that dominated my life as a foster: taking the difficult cases.

Over the years, I’ve slowly took harder and harder cases. I have worked directly with several excellent veterinarians which has enabled me to refine my skills. I have become an expert on panleukopenia and ringworm. But one of the issues I face is that I’m often “the only one who can take” a kitten.

And so I decide this year to try and spread my knowledge out to as many people as I can reach. To help other fosters.
